2021 CASE District I Excellence Awards go to UMaine Marketing and Communications, Alumni Association and University of Maine Foundation

The University of Maine Division of Marketing and Communications, the University of Maine Alumni Association and the University of Maine Foundation were awarded a total of six 2021 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District I Excellence Awards.

UMaine Today online, the magazine website managed by web/print content coordinator Amanda Lozier in Marketing and Communications, received a Silver Excellence Award in the Digital Magazines category. This is the third consecutive year of national and regional awards for UMaine Today online: a CASE 2020 Silver Excellence Award, and district 2020 Silver and 2019 CASE Gold Excellence awards.

UMaine photographer and videographer Adam Küykendall received a 2021 Silver Excellence Award for a UMaine Today magazine video and Honorary Mention in Platinum Awards for best photography, both focused on documenting the songbird habitat research of Amber Roth, assistant professor of forest wildlife management; and a Bronze Excellence Award for a series of photos on the University Forest for UMaine Today magazine. Since 2017, Küykendall has received CASE District I Excellence Awards annually for his photography and/or videography.

The UMaine Alumni Association received a Gold Excellence Award in the Publications Pivot category for the MAINE Alumni Magazine Special Edition of summer 2020.

The University of Maine Foundation received a Bronze Excellence Award in the Special Event Pivot category for the virtual Ferland Engineering Education and Design Center Groundbreaking.
