Sociology journal article earns 2020 Outstanding Contribution Award

The Division of Biopsychosocial Criminology of the American Society of Criminology awarded Steve Barkan, a University of Maine professor emeritus of sociology, and alumnus Michael Rocque, associate professor of sociology at Bates College, the 2020 Outstanding Contribution Award for their article titled “Socioeconomic Status and Racism as Fundamental Causes of Street Criminality,” which was published in Critical Criminology.
