State Chamber publishes story about UMaine hand sanitizer production in inaugural issue of ‘OneVoice Maine’
The Maine State Chamber of Commerce published a story about the University of Maine producing hand sanitizer for healthcare centers across the state in its inaugural issue of “OneVoice Maine” magazine. UMaine led the effort launched in response to a supply shortage among medical institutions at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The university worked with the Maine Distillers Guild to obtain the ethanol needed to produce hospital-grade hand sanitizer at a large scale.
