Nikkei Asian Review interviews Long about Vietnam’s containment of COVID-19

The Nikkei Asian Review interviewed Ngo Vinh Long, professor of Asian History at the University of Maine, for the article titled “Vietnam rushes to repatriate COVID-infected workers.” Vietnam, which is smaller than California with more than twice the population, serves as an early success story for containing COVID-19. Long said the country logged just over 430 COVID-19 cases and no deaths, compared with more than 463,000 cases and more than 8,500 deaths in California.
