MD Islander highlights Muscat selection as NOAA scholar
The Mount Desert Islander profiled University of Maine student Abigail Muscat, who was recently named a 2020 Ernest A. Hollings Undergraduate Scholar by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Muscat, a third-year marine sciences major and international affairs minor from Tremont, is the fourth UMaine student in four years to receive this prestigious scholarship. After completing her undergraduate degree and the NOAA 10-week internship, she plans to attend graduate school. She hopes to combine her interests in marine science and ornithology research by examining the interactions of marine environments and birds.
