University of Maine School of Law to host conversations on racial injustice

The University of Maine School of Law will host virtual public forums designed to examine the racism in laws and institutions, and to discuss specific policies and practices that could be implemented by local communities and the government to facilitate change through law.

The first public forum, “Racial Injustice: Reimagining Policing and Public Safety,” will be held noon–1 p.m. June 19, and will feature a panel of local and state leaders.

Dates and topics for future events in the series will be announced. The forums are free and open to the public; registration is required online
