WBTS publishes story about Mayewski

WBTS (Channel 10 in Boston) published a story about Paul Mayewski, director of the Climate Change Institute at the University of Maine, titled “Meet a Climate Scientist Studying Clues Found in Ice.” Mayewski, who the station referred to as “the Ice King,” has led more than 60 expeditions to some of the remotest polar and high altitude reaches of the planet, including Antarctica, Greenland, Himalayas, Tibet, Andes and the sub-Antarctic Islands, to obtain ice core samples for research. He has more than 450 scientific publications and received numerous honors. “The rate in rise of CO2 in the last hundred years is a hundred times faster than anything recorded in the last 800,000 years,” Mayewski said.
