VillageSoup previews Heather Hamlin’s lobster talk

VillageSoup previewed a talk by Heather Hamlin, associate professor in the University of Maine School of Marine Sciences, about the impact of ocean acidification on Maine’s lobster population. The talk will be at noon May 21 at Merryspring Nature Center in Camden. Hamlin will discuss her research on how lower water pH affects the life cycle of lobsters and what that could mean for Maine’s lobster industry. She’ll also predict long-term trends of acidification in the Gulf of Maine, the article states. The lecture is part of the Spring Talk Series at Merryspring; admission is $5 or free for Merryspring members. For more information, call 236.2239 or email info@merryspring.org.
