VillageSoup advances tidal energy talk by Ross

VillageSoup reported Lauren Ross, an assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Maine, will give a talk about a recent study of tidal energy in Maine at noon Feb. 26 at the Merryspring Nature Center in Camden. The talk will explore how tidal turbines can optimize energy extraction and how coastal environmental conditions are affected by long-term implementations of tidal turbines. Attendees will learn how the research considers issues that can be applied to tidal estuaries in Maine and worldwide, the article states. Admission is $5, or free for members of the center.
