Turner Publishing announces UMaine Extension Master Gardener Volunteer program accepting applications

Turner Publishing announced University of Maine Cooperative Extension is accepting applications for its Master Gardener Volunteers program in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties. The program will be held 4:45–8 p.m. Tuesdays April 2 through May 28, and will resume Aug. 24 to Oct. 15. Sessions will be held at the UMaine Extension office in Lisbon Falls. Participants will receive at least 40 hours of training in the art and science of horticulture, and will volunteer their time and expertise for related activities in their communities, such as gleaning at local farms during the harvest season, the article states.
