Fifth annual March Against Domestic Violence set for Oct. 3

The University of Maine’s fifth annual March Against Domestic Violence will take place Oct. 3 on the Mall in front of Fogler Library.

The march, which begins at noon, is sponsored by the Maine Business School (MBS) Corps, which partnered with UMaine Athletics, Student Life, Partners for Peace and other organizations.

Following the march, remarks will be made by Robert Dana, vice president for student life and dean of students at UMaine; Amanda Cost, facilitative director at Partners for Peace; representatives from several on-campus groups including MBS Corps, Male Athletes Against Violence (MAAV) and UMaine Army ROTC; and members of the community who have been affected by domestic violence.

Last year’s march drew around 200 participants from numerous organizations. Everyone is encouraged to attend and support the cause. For more information, email Nory Jones at njones@maine.edu.
