Welcome for UMaine international community Sept. 7

The International Programs Office will hold a Welcome Assembly and Coffee Hour beginning at 4 p.m., Sept. 7. The event will begin in Minsky Recital Hall with brief remarks from UMaine and Orono leaders to welcome new and returning international students, research scholars, faculty and staff members, as well as friends of UMaine’s international community. The welcome will be followed at 4:30 p.m. by this semester’s first weekly International Coffee Hour in the North Pod of the Memorial Union. The University of Maine welcomed 86 new international students to campus this fall, as well as 14 new faculty and staff members from abroad. The Welcome Assembly, the first of what will be an annual tradition, and the Coffee Hour are free and open to all members of the UMaine community, which now includes more than 500 international students, research scholars, faculty and staff.
