UMaine Extension to host 2017 Maine Soil Health Workshop

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host the 2017 Maine Soil Health Workshop on Dec. 5 at Governor’s Restaurant in Waterville.

Technical service providers, farmers and educators are invited to attend the workshop, which runs from 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Registration is required, and the cost is $25.

Sessions will include “A New Understanding of Soil Organic Matter,” “No-Till and Cover Cropping in Corn,” “Reduced Tillage in Vegetable Production,” “Water Infiltration and Runoff Demo, and “Cover Crop Mixes.” Four CCA credits have been requested for the event.
