UMaine cited in BDN article on starting a Maine business

The University of Maine Office of Innovation and Economic Development was mentioned in the Bangor Daily News article, “10 lessons learned about starting your own Maine business.” At a recentDirigo Speaks: The Next Act” event at the Bangor Public Library, three Mainers shared their stories about starting a business after the age of 50, according to the article. One of the lessons they shared was for entrepreneurs to use the many resources that are available in Maine to help people start a business. One of those resources is UMaine’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development, according to the article. The office offers a “business gateway” online with information people starting a new business need, as well as guidance for growing a business, and information about licensable UMaine-developed technologies, as well as facilities and equipment that can be used, the article states.
