BDN profiles athletes ahead of UMaine Sports Hall of Fame induction
In advance of the Sept. 8 University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Bangor Daily News has published feature articles on several of the athletes. Profiled inductees include sports announcer Gary Thorne, freestyle swimmer Chuck Martin, and hockey player Paul Kariya. Kariya was inducted into the UMaine Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 and will return to Orono to be inducted with the 1992–1993 team, which is being honored as a group, according to the BDN.
