The University of Maine and Campus Recreation are celebrating 10 years of the New Balance Student Recreation Center.
Members of the UMaine community are invited to attend a kickoff anniversary celebration featuring speakers, refreshments and door prizes from 3–5 p.m. Sept. 6 at the center. The event will recognize the center for its contributions to UMaine and surrounding communities, as well as its prominence as a nationally ranked student fitness center.
During the event, Campus Recreation will launch the Exercise is Medicine-On Campus initiative with a proclamation by UMaine President Susan J. Hunter, who will lead guests on a 1-mile walk.
In addition, drawings will be held at the center on the 10th day of every month throughout the academic year.
