UMaine, Penobscot Nation to Compile, Publish Dictionary, BDN Reports

The Bangor Daily News reported that the University of Maine, Penobscot Nation and American Philosophical Society have recieved funds to compile and publish the first comprehensive printed Penobscot dictionary. Pauleena MacDougall, director of the Maine Folklife Center and co-principal investigator on the project, and James Francis, director of cultural and historic preservation for the tribe, talked to the BDN about the importance of language revival in the community.
