Watch Bicentennial Conference talks by Pulitzer Prize-winners

To commemorate Maine’s 200th anniversary of statehood in 2020, the University of Maine recently hosted a three-day Maine Statehood and Bicentennial Conference that included a variety of events, panels, exhibits and concerts.

Pulitzer Prize-winners Alan Taylor and Laurel Thatcher Ulrich delivered keynotes May 31. Taylor is the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Chair at the University of Virginia and Thatcher Ulrich is the 300th Anniversary Professor at Harvard University.

The talks, as well as remarks by UMaine history professor Liam Riordan, UMaine Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Jeffrey Hecker, and Penobscot Nation Tribal Ambassador Maulian Dana, are on UMaine’s Youtube channel.
