Feb. 21 Lecture to Explore Fate of Humanities

University of California-Santa Barbara English professor and author Christopher Newfield will discuss the future of the humanities at public universities Feb. 21 as keynote speaker for the University of Maine Humanities Initiative’s “Connecting Our Worlds: The Contemporary Role of the Humanities” series. Newfield, a prolific author of books and articles on the humanities and the role of public universities, will present “Humanities in the 21st Century and the Land-Grant University” from 4-6 p.m. in Minsky Recital Hall, Class of 1944 Hall.
