Website Features Triclosan Study
The website Medical Xpress posted a UMaine news release about a study of triclosan, a common antibacterial agent, done by UMaine researchers Julie Gosse and Rachel Palmer. The study found triclosan, which is found in hundreds of medical, consumer and personal care products, may have a therapeutic effect in treating allergic skin disorders such as eczema, but may also have unintended effects on endocrine function.
