UMaine Students, Faculty Rally On Campus
The Bangor Daily News covered on Monday a rally in UMaine’s UMaine Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Memorial Plaza. The rally, which was held to express disapproval with proposed federal and state spending cuts, was scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of King’s assassination on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tenn. UMaine student Jennifer Zabko and philosophy professor Doug Allen were pictured in the BDN speaking to the crowd. Channel 5 (WABI) also covered the rally.
