DESCRIPTION:Hunger Banquet\nThe University of Maine’s Office of Multicultural Student Life in collaboration with the Student Heritage Alliance Council (SHAC) and the Bodwell Center will host the annual Hunger Banquet on December 8\, 2017. The event will take place from 5 to 6:30 pm in Estabrooke Ballroom on the UMaine campus.\n\nThe purpose of the event is to raise awareness about hunger and poverty in Maine and other parts of the world. We will be collecting non-perishable food to donate to the Black Bear Exchange Food Pantry. The event will feature brief speeches from representatives from various multicultural student groups to highlight the need for food in the region each group will be representing. We will conclude the event with a raffle drawing. All proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organization combating hunger around the world.\n\nThe event is free for undergraduate UMaine students with a valid MaineCard\, and $10 for graduate students and non-students.
