Adjusting to Campus Life
We know that when you are in a new environment, adjusting can be difficult. This page lists some of the resources which may help you settle in, make new friends, and make the most of your UMaine experience.
Wade Center for Student Leadership
The Wade Center is designed to provide a base of operations for the clubs and organizations at The University of Maine.
The purpose of UNUM Leaders is to get first-year students plugged in. “Plugged in” means connected to their academics, their major and career (and if they don’t have one, help them identify one), the activities and organizations available, and the campus.
Bodwell Center for Service and Volunteerism
The Bodwell Center creates civic mindedness by building an engaged campus through the promotion of service learning and volunteerism to students, faculty and staff in order to strengthen our local, national and global communities.
The Trio Program is designed to assist students at UMaine who are: from low-income families, first generation college students (whose parent has not earned a bachelor’s degree), and/or students with disabilities.
Counseling Center and Touchstone Resources
Being a college student is hard–whether balancing new & old relationships, family & school, or dealing with stress…Whatever is on your mind, the Counseling Center is here to help.
Rainbow Resource Center
The RRC is dedicated to providing social support and education of our LGBT community here on campus.
New Balance Student Recreation Center
The highly-celebrated New Balance Student Recreation Center is a fabulous addition to the recreational opportunities at the University of Maine.
Student Wellness Resource Center
Our goal at the Student Wellness Resource Center is to promote a healthy lifestyle, help you define what being “well” means to you, and providing you with resources, information, and assistance in reaching your goals.
Intensive English Institute
The Intensive English Institute (IEI) at the University of Maine provides quality English language instruction for students at all levels in a fun, safe, small group environment with access to all campus resources.
