Bolster will share fascinating insights about the role of this part of Maine played in the history of fishing innovation and exploitation in the 1600s to the 1800s. It us a story with colorful characters, one that is both human and ecological, and it shows how humans were transforming the ocean long before modern fishing.\u00a0 Bolster is author of the widely-acclaimed “The Mortal Sea, Overfishing in the Age of Sail” published in 2014.
