Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a professional position as a Communications &amp; Outreach Coordinator. This is an on-going, full-time position that serves to facilitate and enhance the communications and outreach activities of the Mitchell Center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compete job details and application information are available from the <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.hiretouch.com\/job-details?jobID=58879&amp;job=communications-outreach-coordinator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Maine employment web page<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create written content for all Mitchell Center print and digital materials.<\/li>\n<li>Design, edit, and distribute the Mitchell Center\u2019s e-newsletter.<\/li>\n<li>Develop creative content and provide on-going maintenance for the Mitchell Center website.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement a social media plan for the Mitchell Center. Post events, news, and other relevant items to the Mitchell Center\u2019s Facebook page.<\/li>\n<li>Work with press and media outlets to distribute Mitchell Center content.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and implement marketing strategies across all media in collaboration with Mitchell Center staff.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and maintain digital media libraries. Assist in the acquisition of digital media for new projects.<\/li>\n<li>Design and edit Mitchell Center print materials including newsletters, brochures, programs and flyers.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the Mitchell Center at various events and conferences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required Qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BA\/BS degree required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in science writing (especially for lay audiences), editing, web publishing, and graphic design.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Photoshop, QuarkXpress (or equivalent), Word, Excel, and WordPress.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience and interest in solving sustainability problems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work creatively and independently within a team environment, and to manage multiple projects and deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel normally requiring a valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senator George J.
