Scroll down the page for more information on the challenges listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Composting Advertisement Video<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do-It-Yourself Compost Bin Competition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compost Selfie<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waste in Your Backpack<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital Poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mason Jar Challenge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hand-Drawn Art Poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share Table Selfie<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Composting Advertisement Video<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Time limit of 30 seconds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>May use any digital manipulation, editing, or other tactic to make the video<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be submitted in MP4, MOV, or WMV format<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standard decency applies, if you couldn\u2019t use this for a school project appropriately then it will be rejected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hand-Drawn Art Poster<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No size requirements. Can be an 8.5&#8243;x11&#8243; piece of paper or a large canvas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It may be on a thicker than standard paper (oak tag for instance)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Landscape or portrait orientation both acceptable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All content must be drawn with no electronic or digital assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any medium may be used (color pencils, crayons, color pastels,paint, charcoal,etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contest age ranges: 0-6, 7-10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-39, 40-59, 60+<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waste in Your Backpack<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry around all the materials that you\u2019d normally throw away in your backpack for 5 days (Monday @ 8:00am-Friday @ 2:00pm, including nights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>***For this to be one effectively you should be composting this week!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may recycle, but only if it is an acceptable material<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the end of the week take a picture of your \u201cTrash\u201d and post it to the Maine Composts Week Facebook, Twitter, or Instragram page with the hashtag #wasteinmybackpackchallenge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also upload your photo in the form below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>**It is recommended you take effort to purchase your food wisely this week as packaging matters!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compost Selfie<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take an unaltered picture of you (any others) composting. This can be at any part of the process from collection all the way to your bin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save the picture as a .jpeg or .png file<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital Poster<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Any images must be open-source to be included in the submission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any un-original aspect of the poster can each only be 20% of the poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design for a 8.5\u201dx11\u201d standard letter size piece of paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Landscape or portrait orientation fine both acceptable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All content must be digitally generated (i.e. no hand-drawn aspect)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any electronic program or tool may be used to aid in creating this poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We request individuals, in particular younger students, exclusively work on their submission. Their hand should be on the mouse and keyboard at all times during the creation of the poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contest age ranges: 0-10, 11-14, 15-18, 19+<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Share Table Selfie<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your school has set up a Share Table in your cafeteria, this is your chance to make it famous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take an un-altered picture of your school\u2019s Share Table. Use this selfie as an opportunity to show what students place on the Share Table.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The 3 categories for this contest: Individuals or Groups\/Classes in Elementary, Middle and High School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save your photo as a .jpeg or.png file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mason Jar Challenge<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"responsive-video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"You Can Live Without Producing Trash\" width=\"1268\" height=\"713\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nYDQcBQUDpw?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This week you are limited to throwing away in total only what would fit in a Mason Jar!
