Mitchell Center food waste solutions work featured on The Maine Question

In a recent episode of The Maine Question podcast, host Ron Lisnet talks with Susanne Lee and undergraduate student Peter O’Brien about food waste and food insecurity in Maine and beyond. Susanne and Peter have worked with diverse stakeholders to find “triple-bottom-line” solutions that can help reduce food waste, feed people in need, and support business success.

Susanne, Executive-in-Residence at the Maine Business School and a Mitchell Center faculty fellow, has extensive experience with Maine food businesses. Peter is one of three undergraduate students who have worked with Susanne to develop the Maine Food Production Leadership Council and researched food waste solutions as part of the Mitchell Center project, “Food Waste Management: Empowering Maine Businesses Toward Sustainability.” Read more about their work here.
