The departments of History and Art and the McGillicuddy Humanities Center, with support from the UMS Program and Innovation Fund, are co-sponsoring a FREE<\/u> full-day trip to Portland for all UMaine students. Special programs are planned at the<\/p>\n

Portland Museum of Art (PMA) and the Maine Historical Society (MHS).<\/p>\n

Tentative Schedule for Saturday, March 30<\/strong><\/p>\n

9:00 a.m.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bus departs from Collins Center for the Arts parking lot at UMaine<\/p>\n

11:30 a.m.\u00a0\u00a0 Arrive at Maine Historical Society\u2019s remote storage location for program<\/p>\n

1:30 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Arrive at Portland Museum of Art for discussion with staff in auditorium to be followed by a tour of the exhibit \u201cRelational Undercurrents: Contemporary Art of the Caribbean Archipelago.\u201d For more info visit: https:\/\/www.portlandmuseum.org\/exhibitions\/relational-undercurrents<\/a><\/p>\n

Free time\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Explore downtown Portland and eat on your own<\/p>\n

5:30 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bus departs from drop-off location near Portland Museum of Art<\/p>\n

8:00 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Approximate return to Collins Center for the Arts at UMaine.<\/p>\n

What will the day be like?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our programs at the MHS and PMA are for our whole group and attendance is expected at both. There will also be time to explore downtown Portland on your own, and you can get an early dinner there before we return. You are encouraged to bring your own food and drink for the bus. All students who reserve a seat<\/u> on the bus will get a free box lunch<\/u> from Dining Services that we will hand out on the way to Portland. We will begin our first program without a stop to eat.<\/p>\n
