FAQs for Administrators & School Districts

What distinguishes Maine Writing Project presenters?

Maine Writing Project members are teacher-consultants.  Above all, we are experienced, practicing teachers, sharing what has worked in our own classrooms. We also listen carefully to the demands that others face in their classrooms. As consultants, we are able to clearly explain the reasons behind our instructional choices and to help others adapt these methods to their own situation and needs.

What distinguishes Maine Writing Project in-service?

We are committed to active, hands-on sessions. We encourage participants to share their own experience and to discuss topic-related questions. We emphasize teaching and learning strategies with broad application, and time is included for collaborative planning to promote immediate classroom use.

Will the Maine Writing Project understand our particular needs?

Although we have prepared a wide range of in-service programs, each session is carefully adjusted to meet your needs and objectives. We frequently create new programs in response to a client request. From the start, a program facilitator will work with administrators and teacher-leaders to help in assessing local circumstances and to meet both logistical and content demands.

What is the cost of hiring the Maine Writing Project?
