{"id":195,"date":"2015-09-27T22:08:17","date_gmt":"2015-09-28T02:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/umaine.edu\/maineliteracy\/?page_id=185"},"modified":"2015-11-17T19:55:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-17T19:55:23","slug":"timeline","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/maineliteracy\/maine-partners-in-comprehensive-literacy-mpcl\/about-mpcl\/timeline\/","title":{"rendered":"Timeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Implementing Maine Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy In Your System<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Phase 1: Awareness and Planning<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The school explores the Maine Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy to determine if the system and model fit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The system develops a plan for funding and implementation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The system selects a teacher to be trained as the school-based literacy coach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The school submits an application to the Literacy Area Programs at the University of Maine.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Phase 2: Literacy Coach Internship <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The literacy coach attends training at the University of Maine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A school leadership team is created and attends a summer institute at the University of Maine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The school faculty is introduced to the Integrated Instructional Framework.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A book room is established to hold the school\u2019s collection of text sets, mentor text selections, leveled books, and professional texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Baseline data is collected and analyzed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Phase 3: Implementation<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A year-long graduate course of study is taught at the school by the literacy coach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Teachers engage with the literacy coach in demonstration lessons and coaching sessions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The school book room continues to be developed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Classroom books and materials are purchased such as an easel, pocket charts, and books for read aloud.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The system collects and analyzes student data.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Phase 4: \u00a0Professional Development <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Teachers who have participated in the initial course participate in a variety of professional development opportunities with the literacy coach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Teachers continue to participate in coaching cycles with the literacy coach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The school book room continues to be developed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The system continues to collect and analyze student data.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Implementing Maine Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy In Your System Phase 1: Awareness and Planning The school explores the Maine Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy to determine if the system and model fit.
