Paddle blades have been slicing through the waters of the Penobscot River for over 10,000 years. The upper west branch is a popular section of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail and the Thoreau- Wabanaki Trail. Learn all about canoe camping, a classic Maine tradition. All transportation, gear, food, and instruction are included.
Trip Itinerary:
- Day 1: Meet at 12:00 pm at the Maine Bound Adventure Center, meet your group, and travel to Lobster Lake in the North Maine Woods.
- Day 2-4: Hike Lobster Mountain, canoe down the Penobscot River, and explore Chesuncook Village.
- Day 5: Finish your expedition and head back to campus. The expedition ends at Maine Bound Adventure Center at 2:00 pm.
Accommodations:
You will stay in tents during this expedition and help prepare food on camp stoves.
