SUMMARY:Heavy Metal at Maine Forest and Logging Museum
DESCRIPTION:Heavy Metal is our event focussed on the machines. In the 1900s era area\, Lombards ply the roads\, and the mills in the Mill Yard churn out boards and shingles. Guest demonstrators bring in their machines. Down the hill in the Colonial era of the grounds\, several blacksmiths tend their forges and give guests a chance to try their hands at blacksmithing. The Water-powered Sawmill is running\, and the bean hole beans are being served–along with biscuits. Fiber artists demonstrate their craft in the Sawyer’s House.

SUMMARY:New England Vegetable and Fruit Conference
DESCRIPTION:The New England Vegetable and Fruit (NEVF) Conference includes more than 25 educational sessions over three days\, covering major vegetable\, berry and tree fruit crops as well as various special topics. A Farmer to Farmer meeting after each morning and afternoon session will bring speakers and farmers together for informal\, in-depth discussion on certain issues. \nThis conference is special because it is put together with close collaboration between growers and Extension from across the region. We hope that you will enjoy your time here\, and meet with fellow growers\, advisors\, researchers\, and industry representatives. We want you to leave with new ideas and new information that will have a positive impact on your farm.
