SUMMARY:Rogers Farm Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Join researchers\, students\, and volunteers at Rogers Farm on Bennoch Rd. in Old Town to learn about the current activities on the farm. Researchers and students will be giving talks about their ongoing studies and how the results can provide insights valuable to agriculture in Maine. You will also learn about volunteer and learning opportunities such as the Master Gardener program\, and enjoy a tour of the farm. All are welcome! \nUMaine agricultural researchers from Cooperative Extension and the School of Food and Agriculture will discuss production methods and present their research on a variety of crops.  \nThe event is free and geared toward farmers\, crop advisors and others interested in agricultural production.  \nTopics for this year’s event will include: \n\nVariety trials for potatoes\, small grains\, dry beans\, and forage legumes\n Organic grain and dry bean production\nCover crop mulch no-till system for dry beans\nInterseeding cover crops in vegetable crops\nPotato Integrated Pest Management (IPM)\n\n  \nThe UMaine Rogers Farm Forage and Crop Research Facility is part of the Maine Agricultural and Forest Experiment Station at the University of Maine \n  \nQuestions? \nContact Abigayl Novak at abigayl.novak@maine.edu
