Student Spotlight: Vivienne Yongthavorn Finds Leadership and Community at UMaine
Moving far from home to pursue a degree can be a leap of faith. International student Vivienne Yongthavorn’s leap has landed her in a place filled with growth, leadership, and a deep sense of belonging. From Bangkok, Thailand, Vivienne is studying business and economics at UMaine, where she also serves as the Treasurer for the International Student Association.
Thanks to the support of the Roger D. Cooper Scholarship which she was awarded, Vivienne has been able to lift the burden of financial uncertainty, allowing her to dive fully into campus life and lay the groundwork for her dream of starting her own business back home. From supportive professors to a community eager to learn about her culture, Vivienne credits UMaine’s welcoming environment for making her feel truly valued.
