The Foster Center for Student Innovation is where UMaine students go for all their innovation and business needs. The center, which was built in 2006, was named after UMaine alumni Bion (\u201968) and Dorain (\u201968) H. Foster, in honor of their generous bequest to the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April of 2007, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Rating to the Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The building\u2019s architects, Oak Point Associates, also received a citation of excellence in green building from the American School Board Journal, and the center was recognized as one of the top new educational facilities in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
