About Charles

I was born in Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana. I graduated from the University of Education – Winneba in 2008 and obtained a Bachelor of Art Education.  Graphic Design and Ceramics were my specialties. After relocating to Sampa, Bono-Ahafo Region in Ghana I have been working as a teaching and a practicing Artist at High School. I have worked on commercial art activities such as making signboards, posters, the printing of T-shirts, embossment of asserts of some Institutions (hospitals, schools, colleges, and making ceramics wares. I also participated in several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows in public and commercial galleries.

Painting is like breathing and if I stop creating, my heart stops beating. My inspiration comes from the daily activities of the indigenous Ghanaians. My works depict realistic and semi-abstract forms. My artworks are characterized by rich and bright colors. My brush strokes are soft with an unending rhythm and intense live pulse that masterfully combines light, motion, color, and space.

As one continues to contemplate the details of the work, it is easy to be deeply immersed and entranced by the seen, unseen, undiscovered, and subtle enchanting visual wonders that each painting contains.

In my perspective, art is a window to the beyond which is not yet in existence and needs to be discovered.

Whether I am viewing or painting, my art allows me to feel free beyond any life confinements.
