Step 1: Take your name, and break it down into the phonetic syllables.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t focus on how your name is spelled<\/em>, focus instead on how it sounds<\/em>.  Your goal is to break your name into its separate sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maya syllable glyphs generally use either one vowel or one consonant-vowel combination (with the vowel at the end), so you might have to add a (silent) vowel to some of your syllables to make sounds that end in a consonant. The silent vowel should be the same as the vowel before it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda becomes A-ma-n(a)-da<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benjamin becomes Be-n(e)-ja-mi-n(i)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
