This activity will teach you how to write your name with Mayan glyphs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Begin by downloading the <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/hudsonmuseum\/resource\/maya-syllabary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maya Syllabary<\/a> &#8211; this will be an important reference for this activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A syllabary is a list of syllables (rather than an alphabet, which is a list of letters).&nbsp; The Maya Syllabary we use here comes from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.famsi.org\/research\/pitts\/MayaGlyphsBook1Sect1.pdf\"><em>Writing in Maya Glyphs: Names, Places, and Simple Sentences: A Non-Technical Introduction to Maya Glyphs<\/em> by Mark Pitts and Lynn Matson<\/a>.
