Kenny Keezer and Debbie Nicholas come from a long line of Passamaquoddy basketmakers that includes mothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and ancestors going back generations. Both Kenny and Debbie carry on the legacy of renowned Passamaquoddy basketmaker Clara Neptune Keezer (1930-2016), who received a National Heritage Fellowship Award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Clara passed the
