We will not be responsible for any liability caused by not understanding the policies.<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nIf you have any questions or concerns please contact us: <a href=\"mailto:um.Hackerspace@maine.edu\">UM.Hackerspace@maine.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>IMPORTANT: To comply with UMaine policy,\u00a0face masks must be worn at all time when inside the Hackerspace facility.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Checking out gear (in-space usage)\n<ul>\n<li>Gear must be checked out with staff approval before use.<\/li>\n<li>Only students and faculty may check out gear (If available).<\/li>\n<li>Any equipment should be returned by 5:00pm on the same day.<\/li>\n<li>First infraction will lead to restricted gear access for 1 week.<\/li>\n<li>Second infraction will lead to restricted gear access for the remainder of the semester.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Infractions involving breakage\/replacement of equipment will be determined on a case to case basis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>No equipment may leave the Hackerspace<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Walk-in checkouts will be first come first serve but reservations may be made (at least 24 hours in advance).<\/li>\n<li>Any memory storage devices returned with equipment will be erased.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Hours and access\n<ul>\n<li>There will be no access to the space before or after hours; please plan accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Equipment must be returned or locked down in a locker and students must leave the space by closing time.<\/li>\n<li>No equipment may be retrieved after closing. Plan accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>3D printers and soldering stations\n<ul>\n<li>These stations will remain on a first-come-first-serve basis to start. If problems arise with this process please contact us at UM.Hackerspace@Maine.edu\n<ul>\n<li>Do NOT try to fix the printers on your own as it could void the warranty leaving you liable to future repair charges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Patrons are permitted to bring their own filament so long as it meets the following criteria:\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s 1.75 mm in diameter.<\/li>\n<li>Must be PLA filament (No exceptions can be made at this time).<\/li>\n<li>The Hackerspace and HS staff are not liable for any failed print jobs, lost filament, or damaged personal equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Your filament is marked as yours. We recommend putting your name and UMaine email on the spool itself.<\/li>\n<li>Using filament outside of these specifications could void our printer&#8217;s warranty leaving you liable for future repairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students, faculty, and staff have access to 25g of PLA filament to be used on Hackerspace 3D printers<\/li>\n<li>The 25g allotment is non-transferable, but may be combined for single print job with other patrons.\n<ul>\n<li>All patrons that are sharing their allotment must be present with Maine card photo ID both when submitting and retrieving their print job.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Locker usage\n<ul>\n<li>Lockers may be checked out for storage for up to 3 days at a time. The space will provide a lock but will not claim responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen items.<\/li>\n<li>Lockers which are at the end of their reserved time will be cleaned out at the end of each day. We will hold any retrieved items for 24 hours.
