Awards were granted in several categories: Oral Presentation, Poster Presentation, Intermedia and Pecha Kucha. The awards were $600 for first place, $300 for second place and $150 for third place. Innovation Center Awards were also given out, at $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third.<\/p>\n<p class=\"margin1\">In addition, this year the Expo included the President\u2019s Research Impact Award, which was given to the graduate student and advisor who best exemplify the University of Maine mission cornerstones of teaching, research and scholarship, and outreach. The $2000 Award was shared equally between the student and the student\u2019s advisor.<\/p>\n<div id=\"dList1\">\n<dl>The President\u2019s Research Impact Award was granted to<\/p>\n<dd><strong>Jennifer Hooper<\/strong> for her presentation \u201cThe Evolution of the \u2018BAT Community Connector\u2019 Mobile Phone App\u201d and her advisor in the Intermedia MFA program, <strong>Professor Owen Smith.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"margin1\">The winners of the awards in each category were:<\/p>\n<div id=\"dList1\">\n<dl>In the Intermedia division:\u00a0<\/p>\n<dt>Third place went to:<\/dt>\n<dd><strong>Johanna Cairns<\/strong> for her piece \u201cInterview with Cheshire McGloun\u201d<\/dd>\n<dt>Second place went to:<\/dt>\n<dd><strong>Heather Perry<\/strong> for her
