This is an award given by the GSG to encourage and recognize graduate students who are passionate about teaching and have made an impact as an instructor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nomination:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To apply, please complete <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/EZRTQsNvkJy5pwB4A\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the application form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and provide a statement detailing their innovative and creative teaching\u00a0 practices. A letter of support from a faculty member who can attest to your teaching prowess is also required and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">can be submitted here<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your impact statement shall detail the following<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your motivation to teach<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Creative techniques you have utilized to teach<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The objective of such techniques and the problems it hoped to solve<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The positive impact of such techniques ( you shall provide examples of student feedback, improvement in student grades, participation etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please make sure that your impact statement is uploaded as a PDF. Your statement shall follow the following guidelines<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">12 point font size; Times New Roman<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A minimum word limit of 250 and a maximum word limit of 500<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The paragraph shall be single spaced or double spaced<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your full name, date and the award you are applying to, must be present on the page header<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The PDF to be uploaded should be named as follows FirstName_LastName_AwardName<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Selection process:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The GSG Awards committee will work with the University of Maine Provost\u2019s Office to review the applications and determine the award recipient.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your impact statement and the letter of support shall entirely be utilized to appraise your application.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Awards:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$600, and a certificate from the Graduate Student Government.
