Graduate School Options for Survey Engineering Technology Majors

Double Up Options
MS Computer Engineering – The Computer Engineering program can be started in the undergraduate Junior year. Students have access to a wide variety of research areas, including The Laboratory for Surface Science and Technology (LASST) lab, an interdisciplinary research unit exploring advanced materials spanning the spectrum from basic science to applied technology. Interested students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and should apply to UMaine Plus during first semester of their Junior year.
Maine MBA – This condensed one-year program provide students with essential business knowledge in accounting, finance, marketing, and management, as well as to advance skills in leadership, critical thinking and analysis, and global engagement. Apply by the second semester of your Junior year. Minimum 3.20 GPA required.
MS Spatial Informatics – This online program can be started in the undergraduate Junior year. Students build on foundations in computer science, mathematics, physics, geography, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, engineering and related fields to study spatio-temporal phenomena and design intelligent spatial information systems. Apply by the first semester of your Junior year. Minimum 3.25 GPA required.
MS Information Systems – This online or live program can be started in the undergraduate Junior year. It focuses on technical, managerial and policy issues associated with constructing and managing computer-based information systems for modern organizations. Apply by the first semester of your Junior year. Minimum 3.25 GPA required.
Professional Science Master’s Options
PSM Engineering and Business – The Professional Science Masters in Engineering and Business is intended for students who have a B.S. in engineering or engineering technology who want to advance into management positions. This online degree combines courses in Engineering and Business for working Engineers interested in advancing into management positions.The degree combines advanced engineering and business courses with applied field experience. The applied field experience integrates the new skills learned by the student with their needs and the needs of their employer.
Traditional Postbaccalaureate Options
MS Mechanical Engineering – The University of Maine Mechanical Engineering program develops engineers who will address and solve some of the world’s most pressing issues and problems in: energy; health engineering; environment; robotics and advanced manufacturing; and transportation on the ground, in the air, in and under water, and in outer space.
