Volunteers are critical to the success of this event designed to showcase the culture of excellence to our graduates, students, friends and family, and community members.
About the Ceremony
The Graduate Commencement Ceremony is where Master’s and Certificate of Advanced Studies candidates will have their degrees awarded and Doctoral candidates are recognized.
The ceremony begins at 3 p.m. in the Collins Center for the Arts on Friday, May 11, 2018 with doors opening at 2 p.m.
The role of volunteers at the ceremony is to:
- Provide guests with directions
- Hand out programs
- Assist guests with seating
- Take guest tickets
A walk through of the Collins Center will occur the week of May 7th to orient volunteers to the space and flow of the ceremony.
Will there be a practice run through?
Yes, a walk through of the Collins Center will occur on Thursday, May 10th at 10 a.m. to orient volunteers to the space and flow of the ceremony.
Where do I go on Friday, May 11th?
Please report to the Collins Center by 1:45 pm unless your assignment indicates otherwise. You may park in the lots near the Collins Center for the Arts.
What do I wear?
Please try to wear a white top and black bottoms, if possible, and comfortable shoes!
Will there be food?
Yes, we will have a reception following the ceremony which you are invited to attend.
