1940s Potluck Lunch and Tribute to WWII Veterans

The University of Maine will host a 1940s theme tribute to World War II veterans on Tuesday, May 30. Members of the public are invited to attend a free potluck lunch and story-sharing event from noon to 3 p.m. in the atrium of the D.P. Corbett Business Building. Clark Observatory Dedication

Members of the UMaine community are invited to attend the dedication of the new Clark Observatory on Friday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The historic Alvin Clark eight inch refractor, originally installed in 1900, has been relocated to the grounds of Emera Astronomy Center in a new roll-off roof facility.  This observatory will be used by university students and open to the general public following evening planetarium programs. Artist Reception: Susan Groce and Antonia Small

This summer, the Lord Hall Gallery on the University of Maine campus will host exhibitions by two of Maine’s leading artists, both of whom live in Port Clyde. The public is welcome to attend a reception for the artists from 5:30–7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 in the Lord Hall Gallery.
