The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning is collaborating with doctoral candidates, Andrea Mercado and Ming-Tso Chien to provide international teaching assistants (ITAs) with a Community of Practice, designed for those who are primarily non-native speakers of English with little to no prior teaching experience and who want to improve their teaching. CoP – Active Learning Strategies

How to use Clickers to Deepen Student Thinking and Enhance Discussions

  Student response devices, such as iClicker and TopHat, provide an easy way to engage with students in classrooms.  Yet, often the quality of these interactions remain superficial. In this workshop, researchers from the RiSE center will discuss way to construct and deploy clicker questions to lead to deeper student thinking and more rich engagement.
