New Faculty Community of Practice
February 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
The New Faculty Community of Practice is open to new faculty hired after 2016. This CoP has decided to use examples of learning theory from the book “Make it stick: The science of successful learning” to guide their discussions. Each month, members read a chapter of the book, and bring relevant examples from their classrooms to the group for discussion, or issues, challenges or questions about how to apply the material to their own unique learning environment.
During the spring, this group will meet on the last Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am
For the January meeting, we will be reading Chapter 3: Mix Up Your Practice
The New Faculty Community of Practice is open to new faculty hired after 2016. Please register here if you are interested in joining. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
What are Communities of Practice (CoPs)?
CITL is excited to offer CoPs as opportunities for faculty to work together to develop their teaching repertoire and share experiences. Topics are chosen based on the interest from faculty. Please note, although attendance is not mandatory, CoPs work best for all involved when you commit to ongoing participation. You can read more about CoPs here.
