SHIP Insurance

The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) through the Affordable Health Care Act will be an automatic charge on all domestic graduate student accounts, once they are enrolled for 6 or more credits for Fall.

For more information on the Waiver Process and to view the current SHIP brochure, please visit the Bursar’s Office website.

Graduate Assistant Health Insurance GA/TA Policy for Domestic Students

To qualify for the GA/TA plan, students must be working at least 20 hours a week for their graduate assistantship

Domestic graduate assistants, fellows, and trainees are NOT eligible for SHIP and should waive out by October 1.

When the graduate assistant appointment form has been processed by the Graduate School, the GA/TA insurance charge will be automatically applied to the student account. GA’s will then receive an email with instructions on how to either waive out or enroll in the plan.
