Graduate School Work Study Assistantship

This position will be responsible for ten (10) hours of front desk coverage in the Graduate School split on Mondays and Fridays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Must be available Mondays and Fridays.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the main contact for the Graduate School responsible for greeting and assisting visitors.
  • Assisting long-term residents in Stodder Hall such as lock-outs, room condition forms, etc.
  • Answers and forwards telephone calls to the appropriate staff member.
  • Respond to general inquiries and requests for information from faculty, staff, prospective and current students, and external contacts via email, phone, and in person. 
  • Assisting in coordinating meeting room availability and setup 
  • Distributes and processes incoming/outgoing daily mail.
  • When not performing front desk tasks, administrative tasks from the traditional GA job description may be required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task and maintain professionalism during peak and stressful periods.
  • High degree of confidentiality and attention to detail required
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Business casual dress code required
  • Ability to lift and move +/- 50 pounds (frequently rearranging furniture & moving boxes) 
  • Knowledge of general higher education systems and processes preferred
  • Customer service experience, preferred

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an administrative office and enjoy a fast-paced, dynamic work setting.

Students must have filed a FAFSA form and must be work-study eligible.
