Every year, Franco American Programs organizes a \u201crassemblement\u201d or gathering of Franco American artists, writers, and creatives.  This annual event aims to create a culturally supportive space in which members of the Franco-American creative community can share their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We at the Franco-American Centre at the University of Maine, Orono are excited to announce our <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RASSEMBLEMENT 2026<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Lisa, Jake, and I are delighted to invite you to our annual gathering.  We both hope that you will join us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will gather in person in Orono from April 10-12, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have arranged a block of rooms at the Hotel Ursa<\/a>.  The rooms are $119\/night, plus tax.  The code for our group rate is FRANCOAM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release date for the block is March 20, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IN-PERSON EVENT<\/strong> in Orono<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, April 10, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5pm: Ad\u00e8le Saint-Pierre<\/strong> art opening and talk. Ad\u00e8le Saint-Pierre is a Franco-American artist, originally from Jay, Maine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6:00pm: Pot-luck Dinner <\/strong>at the Franco American Centre. Bring something if you can, don\u2019t worry if you can\u2019t. There is always more than enough food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:00pm: Community poetry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, April 11, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9am-12pm: Sharing our work<\/strong>: <\/strong>We will establish this schedule once we get a better sense of who is planning on attending, and who would like to share their work.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12pm: Lunch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1:30pm-3:30pm: Sharing our work (<\/strong>or if everyone who wishes to present has already presented, a moderated discussion <\/strong>or a walk<\/strong> in the woods)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5pm: Dinner on your own<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, April 12, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

10am-12noon: Debrief and wrap-up <\/strong>(in-person, Orono) \u2014 Optional informal discussion to wrap-up the weekend, provide feedback, and say good-byes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TO ATTEND THE GATHERING,\u00a0PLEASE REGISTER THROUGH THIS LINK<\/a>. You will receive further information via email, including the full weekend agenda. Registration helps us establish the schedule and prepare for catering. There is no charge for either event.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donations are welcome<\/a>.  They make events like this one possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If anyone would like to come but cannot afford a hotel room, please let us know.  We have a small pot of funds that we can use to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
